Every website has its own unique characteristic. However, no matter what website you are visiting, you will find there are many homology. Now I will introduce 3 websites, they are an online sales website www.amazon.co.uk, a car company¡¯s website http://www.ford.co.uk, and a toys online sales website www.etoys.com. There are some similarities and differences among them. And I will compare and contrast them as follow.
First, there is an obvious similarity that the 3 website is to sell goods online, but there exist a big difference among them. http://www.ford.co.uk is a car company¡¯s website, its main task is not to make money, and its goals are to introduce their product and sell them online. However www.amazon.co.uk and www.etoys.com are the completely Internet companies, their websites are their main product, they use it as a media to sell goods like an ¡°Internet shop.¡± Both of them don't produce goods, they get profit from the price difference of products and advertisement. They may buy in a low price and sell them to a relative high price. But the two Internet shops have advantages over the true shops. They can save a lot of money from the high rent of place, and the salary of salesman. This kind of website has gained more and more popularity in recent year; people can get the commodities at home conveniently. Nevertheless, http://www.ford.co.uk are totally different from the two websites. This website only sell its own products the Ford cars and there is no advertisement. There are many correlative informations about Ford, such as the service, maintenance, insurance, car range, and accessory. You can get anything about Ford that you want to know, even the news of Ford Company. Ford; as one of the biggest car producers has many ways to sell their cars, the website is just one kind of methods for sales, and this point is diverse form the two other websites.
www.amazon.co.uk and www.etoys.com are two analogical websites. First, both of them are the ¡°Internet shops¡±, and survive in the market though profit of price difference and advertisement. Advertisement is always a big amount of revenue for the big website. Second, both of them have a searching engine in the homepage, if you want to find some product, you can only input some correlative words of the product, and then the screen will show what you want. Third, in the homepage, both websites introduce some new or hot products, people can know now which kind of product is best. Forth, if you want to but something in this website, you should first sign in. If not, you cannot buy anything.
But there are some differences between them. www.etoys.com is only focused on toys, there are many toys to meet different ages need, in the homepage, there is 3 list ¡°shop etoy by age¡± ¡°shop etoy by category¡± ¡°shop etoy by brand¡±, it can satisfy all the people.
