Who Killed Jay Gatsby?
killed the woman, it was actually Daisy. Was this action an accident, or was this all on purpose? No one can really tell, but it was still her behind the wheel of the yellow car. "'They're a rotten crowd,' I shouted, across the lawn. 'Your worth the whole damn bunch put together.'" (Pg. 162, Ch.8) To be honest, Nick is probably not the only one who shares this perspective of the Buchanans and other upper-class in comparison to with Gatsby.
Well with all those to blame, who could possibly be left? The one left is the biggest suspect of all, the one who caused this all: Jay Gatsby. For years Gatsby was strongly determined to be with Daisy, and followed her everywhere. He strongly believed that Daisy was unhappily married, and wanted to "save her" from this miserable life: " 'I don't think she ever loved him," Gatsby turned around from a window and looked at me challengingly." (Pg. Ch.7) If not for his obsession, he would have never been killed. Daisy would never fall in love with Gatsby once more, Tom would never find out, Myrtle would not have been killed, Wilson would not have been after Gatsby. This one little event changed the lives of so many others. So perhaps his downfall was actually all his fault to begin with, but who knows? History cannot be altered, what happened has happened.
Just who is to blame? Is it Wilson, Tom and Daisy Buchanan, or Gatsby? This mystery will never be solved, for there is always another link connected to the death of this man.Possibly someday the answer will be clear, but for now the great Gatsby will forever be a mystery to all but himself
