CBC has come a long way; it first aired in May 20 1920, during the World War I, this was a big step for CBC since there was a war going around the Canadians were anxious to hear what was happening in the war. CBC engineers also helped the Free French Forces to plan and install a powerful shortwave station in French Equatorial Africa. At home, the CBC News Service was established, opening officially on January 1, 1941. Many of the domestic wartime programs were designed for the time - Victory Loan appeals, documentaries on the forces and on the Canadian war effort at home, drama serials such as La Fiancee du Commando and L for Lanky (the Lancaster bomber). On the theme of saving gas through home entertainment, there was even a program to teach tap dancing by radio. Television was first demonstrated in 1926, by John Logie Baird in England. In the next ten 'Years there were experiments in several countries, including some in Canada as early as 1930.b which gave live pictures and movements in black and white so viewers could what was going on. The history of CBC has made a big impact on today’s society now people watch with concern and are proud that CBC is bringing them good news sine the 1920’s.
So in conclusion, CBC has shown that most Canadians watch CBC to learn and experience new things by CBC providing them with different types of news, keeping in mind that for all ages CBC provides them with different news and what the history has made CBC today.
