Zora Hurston

worked as a manicurist and a waitress. In 1927, she married Herbert Sheen, a musician, but the marriage only lasted three years. In 1939, she married Albert Prince the third, but this also ended in divorce. Booth marriage failed because Zora refused to stay at home like a traditional wife. She wanted to work and support, not just b supported.

Once Zora became successful, she faced criticism of her work. Some critics said she ignored poverty of African American lives, They said that she should write about the harshness of the lives of the black society. Although this criticism followed her throughout her career, she decided not to be influenced by it. She continued to write about the great liveliness of the African American Cultures. By the late 1940s, her career started coming to an end. She continued to write, but her stories were getting harder and harder to publish. In the late 1950s, she moved to Fort Pierce Florida. Here she supported herself by working as a maid, a librarian, and a teacher. Later on, she moved into a welfare home because she was to stubborn to ask her friends for help. She died in poverty and was buried in an unmarked grave.

She qualified as a significant author because of her great hardships, and how she got through them. With these hardships, she still managed to become one of the greatest African American Female Authors to be known to society.
