their land. They wanted the British to know that they could not just come in with their imperialist ideas and take over. The Zulus wanted to protect their land and culture. Zulu, to the educated person, does indeed demonstrate imperialism in South Africa. However, the average movie-watcher would not know this, for Endfield fails to illustrate the attempted destruction of the Zulu land and culture. Instead, he focuses on the courage and strength that underdogs (the British soldiers) demonstrate, thus distorting the facts of the time.
