A Christian Form of Ethics

no matter how much he hurts you, no matter how evil he is” (Murray 388). It is hard to love someone unconditionally as God commands. The point is that our creator desires for all of his children to have respect and love for each other. If this idea was put into practice one hundred percent of the time the world would be a completely peaceful place.

The concept of ethics is and will always be a topic of debate. How are we as humans supposed to know how to make judgments and moral decisions? For Christians the answer seems to be clear. In Matthew 22:37-40, “Jesus said: ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment; And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” All decisions in our lives should be made with careful consideration of what God would want from us, and how we are affecting others in love. Any question of ethics for a Christian can be answered with this truth.
