What were the political issues that affected the world between 1945 and 1990?
at all times.
It is very hard to try and explain why Communism and Capitalism have different ways of thinking, and why there are so many tensions arising from this, however, we can get an indication of this if we read some philosophy and sociology. As Hegel and Marx believed that the evolution of human societies was not open-ended, but would end when mankind had achieved a form of society that satisfied its deepest and most fundamental longings. This form of society has never been created, there are always discrepancies within societies, and not one of them is nearly perfect.
As Hegel puts it, men are created with a sense of having a natural need and desire for objects outside themselves such as food, drink, shelter, and above all the preservation of their bodies. But men also want to be recognized as a human being having certain worth or dignity. In other words, men always has tried to achieve importance in life, and has thought that whatever he says is correct and whatever someone else says is wrong. This was the case with the Soviets and Americans. The struggle for recognition provides us with insight into the nature of international politics.
In the end, the Soviet Union collapsed, and there was only one major world power left, which was the United States. Anyone would think that with the end of the Soviet Union, the political situation would have been better, but that is not the case nowadays. Now the United States has other enemies it has to deal with, including some Arab and Asian countries. The road to peace in politics will demand a better understanding in between countries, and more tolerance from one another. The impact of political issues during 1945 and 1990 has really affected the way the world is today with uncertainties and fears of anything happening at any time. Cuba does no longer pose a threat to the United States since the Soviet Union is no longer a world power, but there are other people out there that would love to see this country disappear, and we will have to deal with this sooner or later.
