Clearly there are no clear-cut answers for this very difficult and complex problem. However, it is obvious that going to war is not a decision that you should make rashly or without the backing of a country. This is why I propose that we wait for the U.N. weapons inspectors and their findings. After they get finished with their inspections and disarm Saddam’s arsenal then we should make decisions as to what to do with Saddam and his regime. Maybe then there will be more backing by citizens for a war with Iraq. Also who says that it is even our responsibility to take care of Saddam? Clearly if Saddam poses that big of a threat the United Nations could take action against him, America should not have to take sole responsibility for a war against Iraq.
This issue obviously affects every single American. This war would touch everyone economically, socially, and for some unfortunate families it may cost them a family member. This is why it is necessary for everyone to voice his opinion on the issue. So I ask everyone to write his congressman, setup demonstrations and rallies, write your local paper, and just generally let your opinion on the issue be known. If the general public puts pressure on their representatives then we can make President Bush balk on the notion of invading Iraq.
