understand what they were doing. In contrast to the stress I faced, the final week of training was beneficial. I get to sit with one of the interns and take calls together. It was very frightening; however, it did felt good knowing that another clueless person was there with you and experiencing the same thing I was. At that time, there was one supervisor that walked around the interns ready to help us if we needed any help. That supervisor was very busy on that day.

After training was over, I went to work almost completely clueless. I felt like I just walked into Putnam for the very first time. I did not want to take any calls but did went through it on my first day because this was one of the many obstacles that I have to face in my life.

There were many bad parts when working at Putnam. One of them was that I was I sounded dumb because I did not know what to do when on calls. I lacked confidence because not want to help me. Every questions seem like a stupid questions to them. Additionally, I did not mind doing the work as long I was getting paid to do the work. However, a lot of works that I had to do took place beyond my work schedule. An example will be filling out forms sending out an array of forms requested by shareholders. I was not allowed to perform all these transaction while on the phone. Also, Putnam the opportunity to hear how investors felt about situations that affect the market.

In conclusion, I came into Putnam ready to learned and better myself. My first couple of weeks was not what I expected. There were so much to learn about taking calls, but the trainers put too much emphasis on extensive details that were irrelevant for most calls. This resulted in me struggling when talking to customers. Eventually, I put some time in my performance with the help of my supervisor and fellow represtatives. Consequently, I got great grades on most of my calls. At the end of my internship, I felt a sense of relief and achievement. I was relief because I did not have to take any calls again. I felt a sense of achievement because I actually learned more about the real world of finance. I was proud that Putnam was my first real job and appreciate all the people who made the internship possible.
