Northeast District HDSL Design rules
History Lesson:
The first version of business HDSL technology (approximately 10 years ago) was a 4-wire circuit designed to meet a 35dB insertion loss at 196Kz. This loss was calculated based on gauge of cable, environment (UG, buried or aerial), number of gauge changes and number of bridged taps. Generally speaking, the thought was that “Carrier Serving Area” criteria would suffice for an HDSL circuit (!
