However they are both physical in nature, the mind and the body are different things, the mind can survive with damage to the body, however if the mind was damaged it would be a lot harder for the body to survive. If materialism is accepted then an AI object can be created, as both the mind and body are physical objects that with enough research and study could be recreated.
Artificial Intelligence is currently used in many areas. It is used in game playing- programming computers to play games such as chess and checkers; Expert Systems - Programming computers to make decisions in real life situations, for example, some expert systems help doctors diagnose diseases based on symptoms; Natural Language - Programming computers to understand natural languages; Neural Networks - Systems that simulate intelligence by attempting to reproduce the types of physical connections that occur in animal brains; Robotics - Programming computers to see, hear and react to other sensory stimuli, plus there is a lot of research going on in the field of AI to expand the knowledge for future projects or ideas.
The ultimate goal of the future is to make computer programs that can solve problems and achieve goals in the world as well as humans. There is no doubt that in the future Artificial Intelligence will be more advanced and there would be more tests and studies completed. The main question is: "Can man hope, or fear, that he can create machines that will become more intelligent than himself?" The most logical answer is that machines will never be more intelligent than humans simply because man is the creator and the machine is the created.
